The General English program is for students who want to improve their language proficiency for personal growth, better professional opportunities, travel and social interaction. Students are challenged to develop both fluency and accuracy as well as cross-cultural communication skills in the General English program./p>

Our General English lessons are based on the innovative “HITS” system. This means that, at the end of each lesson, students achieve something very specific and practical. These classes also involve students using English in the real world by engaging in real tasks and activities outside of the classroom.

Barista Basics at QAT

Increase your employability by developing skills in the art of coffee making.

The Barista Basics component requires 6 hours of practical training per week for 4 weeks and successful completion the following two units:

  • SITXFSA001 Use Hygienic Practice for Food Safety
  • SITHFAB005 Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee

Upon successful completion of these two units, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for these two competencies from the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality training package which are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Course Overview

Improve your English and employability by combining your General English (CRICOS 057609G) course with two barista basics units. These additional units include SITXFSA001 Use Hygienic Practice for Food Safety and SITHFAB005 Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee.

Course Delivery: Monday to Thursday: 20 hours of face-to-face teaching weekly Friday: 6 hours of practical training for 4 weeks.

English Level: Elementary to Upper-Intermediate
