Commence your career in Early Childhood Education and Care in Australia with this entry level qualification (Certificate III in Childcare) at QAT.
This qualification is for people who want to work as an early childhood educator in a centre-based service and family day care. You will be able to facilitate play and ensure children’s health and safety while supporting their learning and wellbeing. Queensland Academy of Technology partners with some of the best early childhood education and care services in the industry to give you practical, on-the-job training and industry-relevant experience before you graduate.
Certificate III in Childcare Guarantee Program provides a Queensland Government subsidy towards the training cost for eligible Participants undertaking an Australian Qualifications Framework certificate III in Childcare qualification, which can help you to get a job outcome or career progression.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Queensland resident aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students)
• An Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and on the pathway to permanent residency
• Must not have or be enrolled in a Certificate 3 level or higher qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training)
ASSESSMENTS
Skills and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you study at the Queensland Academy of Technology, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback.
Credit transfer is available for students who have successfully completed units of competency through a nationally recognised provided. Evidence of transcript will be requested prior to commencing the course.
QUALIFICATION UNITS
The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete 18 units of competency. Completing placement is compulsory, and you will be expected to manage family and work commitments in order to complete your shifts. You are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of placement to satisfy this component of your qualification.
**Prior to work placement you are required to apply for a blue card (working with children check).
