If so, the Certificate III in Business is for you. This qualification is completed via a traineeship and will build upon your current basic administrative skills and knowledge to give you a more solid understanding of the business world.
Welcome to the Certificate III in Business - School-Based Traineeship (BSB30120) at the Queensland Academy of Technology (QAT). We want your experience here to be enjoyable, challenging and rewarding. The skills you learn will give you to the ability and confidence to work in the business services industry in Australia.
School-based Traineeships provide choice for employers and students alike across Queensland. Queensland Academy of Technology has developed a School-based Business Traineeship program to equip our future leaders with the necessary skills to excel in a modern business environment, whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification. On successful completion of a traineeship our students gain credit toward their Queensland Certificate of Education, and increase their chance of entry into University.
QAT as a leading training college in Brisbane has a proven history delivering various work place traineeship programs. We are committed to fully engaging with our reputable Host organisations to understand the specific needs, and provide solutions through implementing our trainee programs engaging with high performing school students.
An Australian school based trainee or apprentice must:
• Be a full time school student aged 15 years or older
• Have the school’s agreement to undertake school-based training
• Have parent/guardian’s permission (if under the age of 18)
Skills and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you study at the Queensland Academy of Technology, including written questions, practical skills, tasks, projects, reports, role plays/presentations and third party evidence.
The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete 13 units of competency. The units are taught and assessed in series over the entire length of the course; please refer to the information below.

Trainees can pursue further studies by enrolling into the Certificate IV in Business Administration through our internal pathways program.
Training is free to school based trainees.
